UPDATE 1/16/12

The New Year is off with a bang with lots of happenings and news around here. First off, the 15th Annual New Year's Day Poker Run was A LOT of fun! We had a record number of participants for the long-running event: 86. Everyone said they had a great time, and I've had several people ask about more events like it. Shirley and I are thinking maybe we will organize a 4th of July Barbeque and bike ride this summer.

The first Snake Creek Gap race in Dalton, GA was January 7th. Nine Team Wood-N-Wavers raced and plan to go back for more in February and March! See the complete January results here.

The city of Eddyville, KY is in the first stages of planning a new 8-10 mile XC trail in the wooded area next to the soccer complex. Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White is one of the heads of this proposal. If you are interested in helping out with these efforts e-mail him at lyoncountyjudge@gmail.com. Hopefully these plans will come to fruition! It'd be awesome to have another trail to ride!

The proposed area for the new trail is the wooded area directly west of the "A" marker.

Many of you are in the market for new bikes this time of year. Remember we can put your old bike up for consignment here at the shop and help you choose a new ride for 2012! (Note: the higher-dollar bikes don't do well on consignment, not many people come in the shop wanting to pay $2,000 for a used bike.)

Christmas season is in full swing, and despite the recent string of crummy weather we are excited for the holidays around here! Lots of people have come by to pick up Christmas gifts for friends and family--I won't say who, but some of you are getting some sweet gifts this year. =]
