Start:
The race will start along the access road leading under the Canal Bridge. A mass La Mans start will stage down the road. The bikes will be staged on the Scenic Drive, just past the gates leading to the access road. The run will be aprx .2 miles.
On all team categories, each teammate must atleast run one lap. Racers can choose whether they want to do 1 lap or multiple laps on their turn.
All racers will have their category marked on the back of their right calf. This is to identify yourself to riders on the trail. Do not remove this.
Transitioning riders: We will not use any kind of marker to carry from rider to rider in the team categories. When the rider comes in from a lap, they must yell their racer # followed by OFF or ON depending on if you are going again or giving it to another teammate. That teammate coming on must yell his/her number followed by ON. This is to make sure the recorders document your times.
Rules:
-
NORBA Rules and Regs apply at this race.
-
Water or Food may be supplied by anyone to any racer. This may only be supplied at any of the road/path crossings throughout the trail. There will be an aid station with water/gatorade and food set up around the main tent. Bring your own bottle. Please do not litter on the course.
-
Support can only be given to racers by other registered racers. If a racer is giving support to a teammate, they must ride or walk to the area with no shortcutting of the course. Tools, Parts, or bikes can be given as support.
-
If you do have problems on the trail do not impede other riders. Move off of the trail so to not block other racers.
-
Be aware of other riders around you. When passing, say "Passing to Right/Left." It is the passing racers responsiblity to make the pass. Having said that, do not hold up racers behind you. If they need to pass, let them in a reasonable area.
-
All active racers should have their number plates displayed. In case of a bike swap, the plate should also be swapped.
-
Sportsmanship is a must. No profanity, yelling, or other unsportsmanlike conduct. This type of behavior will lead to a disqualification.
-
Absolutely no shortcutting of the course. Doing such will disqualify the whole team.
-
After 6:30PM(Time subject to change on race day) a primary light source must be used by every racer. In addition, a small backup light must be carried with every rider in case the primary fails. All racers leaving the tent one hour before sunset much have these two light sources. Specific times will be given on Saturday.
-
If you see any racer in need of medical attention, you must stop to aid this person. In this case, your team will be notified and your laptime will be calculated based on your average lap time.
-
In all team categories, every rider on the team must complete atleast 1 lap.
-
Racers may run single laps or consecutive laps. It is entirely up to the team. If a consecutive lap is rode, make sure the time keeper is notified you are staying on for another lap.
-
If you ride with a MP3 player, leave one of the ear pieces out so you can hear riders coming up behind you.
-
We don't want to ruin the fun with too many rules. Just use your head on the trail plus some common sense. Riding Etiquitte. Its every riders responsibility to know the above rules. If you have any questions about a situation or about a rule, ask one of the officials on site.
-
Have fun, be careful, and race hard!
